Chalet d'Adrien is Verbier's most romantic hotel: a Relais & Châteaux chalet of aged timber, stone fireplaces and antiques, set above the resort with sweeping views across the Val de Bagnes to the Combin massif. With just 29 individually designed rooms and suites, indoor and outdoor pools and two restaurants, it is a peaceful, traditional alternative to the buzz of central Verbier.

With just 29 individually designed rooms and suites, indoor and outdoor pools and two restaurants, it is a peaceful, traditional alternative to the buzz of central Verbier.
Location: Verbier, Switzerland
The hotel sits above the resort centre, beside the site of the old Savoleyres gondola station, which closed in April 2026. A hotel minibus runs guests to central Verbier and the Médran lift station, the main gateway to the slopes.
Verbier's reputation rests on its terrain. From the summit of Mont Fort, at 3,330 metres, the views stretch from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc, and the high, open slopes of Tortin and Gentianes offer some of the most famous freeride terrain in Europe, with the Bec des Rosses face hosting the Xtreme Verbier competition. Gentler pistes at Savoleyres and La Tzoumaz suit families and intermediates, and the 4 Vallées link reaches as far as Nendaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon. Verbier is also famous for its après-ski and nightlife, and in summer for the Verbier Festival, one of Europe's leading classical music festivals.
Verbier, in the Swiss canton of Valais, is one of the great freeride resorts of the world, perched on a sunny balcony above the Val de Bagnes and facing the Grand Combin and Mont Blanc massifs. It is the hub of the 4 Vallées ski area, with hundreds of kilometres of pistes and legendary off-piste terrain from Mont Fort, and it hosts the Xtreme Verbier freeride final each spring. Geneva Airport is about two hours by road, and trains run to Le Châble, linked to Verbier by gondola.

Rooms and suites at Chalet d'Adrien
There are 29 rooms and suites, each individually decorated in traditional Alpine style, with old timber, rich fabrics and antique furniture, and many with balconies facing the valley and the peaks. Suites have extra living space for families or longer stays.
Each room is different, and the best have large balconies facing the valley and the mountains, perfect for a morning coffee in the sun. Bathrooms are generous, and the antique furniture, carved wood and soft fabrics create a warm, romantic atmosphere that feels a world away from the bustle of the village.
Facilities at Chalet d'Adrien
The spa has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a steam room, a sauna and beauty treatments, and the outdoor pool, with its valley views, is one of the loveliest in Verbier. La Table d'Adrien is the gastronomic restaurant, serving refined cuisine with Swiss, French and Italian influences, while Le Grenier offers rustic mountain dishes in a more informal setting.
The hotel's elevated position gives it some of the finest views in Verbier, especially from the terraces, which are popular for lunch in the sun. Staff can arrange ski passes, guides for Verbier's famous off-piste, ski lessons and equipment, as well as snowshoe walks, winter hikes and spa treatments.

The mountain moment
The Chalet d'Adrien moment is a swim in the outdoor pool at sunset, the whole Val de Bagnes falling away below you and the snowfields of the Grand Combin turning gold, then pink, before dinner by the fire.
On a clear winter day, ride up to Mont Fort for one of the great panoramas of the Alps, then return to the hotel for a long lunch on the terrace, looking across the Val de Bagnes. In the evening, the warm, candlelit dining room of La Table d'Adrien, with the lights of Verbier twinkling below, is one of the most romantic places to dine in the Swiss Alps.
Why Chalet d'Adrien is one of the best mountain hotels
Chalet d'Adrien earns its place for its views, warmth and traditional style. It offers a quiet, romantic, intimate stay in a resort better known for partying. Since the Savoleyres gondola closed, it relies on its shuttle to reach the lifts, so it is less convenient than central hotels. But for couples who want peace, views and great food, it is Verbier's most charming hotel.
